The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force, KPCN, said its new motorcycle team is making its first public deployment on Bonaire’s roads during Regatta Week. The team will complement other police patrols assigned to public order and traffic safety during the festivities.

According to KPCN, the motorcycles have distinctive police livery, sirens and message panels that officers can use to give instructions to other road users. The force said the motorcycles can be used for traffic monitoring and enforcement, preventive patrols, traffic checks and event supervision.

KPCN said the motorcycles can move through busy areas and locations that patrol cars cannot easily access. The force said this can help officers respond to reports, support colleagues during incidents and monitor multiple locations.
