The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) urged the public on Tuesday 13 October to exercise restraint and resolve disagreements peacefully, according to a Government of Sint Maarten release.

KPSM said people should not take matters into their own hands. The force said verbal disputes can escalate into physical violence, injuries, arrests and serious legal consequences.

KPSM encouraged people to remain calm during disagreements, avoid confrontational behaviour and seek assistance from the appropriate authorities when necessary.
