Sint Maarten Yacht Club starts 2026-27 sailing season

The Sint Maarten Yacht Club says its sailing programmes have resumed, with a regatta and open house planned for 10 October.

Motorboats tied up at a marina dock on the Simpson Bay Lagoon under a grey sky.

The Sint Maarten Yacht Club said its 2026-27 sailing season began in September, with its Youth Sailing, Primary School and Sailability programmes returning.

The club will hold the Soons Dinghy Regatta on Saturday 10 October, followed by its annual open house from 11am to 4pm AST, according to SMYC. The club also listed the Caribbean Dinghy Championships from 22 to 25 October and the Keelboat Oyster Bay Weekend on 31 October among its October events.

SMYC said spaces were available in its Youth Sailing Programme on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The programme holds lessons after school from Monday through Friday and on Saturday mornings.
