Taxi association reports 95% turnout for visitor-service training
The Dutch St. Maarten Taxi Association said 95% of its members attended two days of cruise-service training in September.

The Dutch St. Maarten Taxi Association said 95% of its members attended a two-day training course on Monday 12 October 28 and Tuesday 29 September, aimed at improving service to visitors before the 2026-2027 high season.
According to the association, the training was held with the Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence. Port St. Maarten management and government representatives recommended the Canada-based organisation to the association.
The association said each participant received a certificate of completion. Drivers will also receive stickers for their taxis showing they completed the training.
The association said participants gave the course high overall ratings, citing the information provided and a presentation by speaker Melanie Colpitts. It said the Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence uses instructors recommended by the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association.
