Ten pupils advanced to the semi-finals of the 2026 Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle and Windward Islands Bank spelling bee after a preliminary round on Sunday 1 November at Paradise Event Hall, the Rotary Club said. The round drew 26 pupils aged nine and 10 from seven schools in Sint Maarten and three in Anguilla.

The semi-finalists represent St. Dominic Primary School, Caribbean International Academy, Learning Unlimited Preparatory School, Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary School, Orealia Kelly Primary School, MAC John A. Gumbs Campus and Leonald Conner School. They are scheduled to compete on Sunday 8 November for places in the Grand Finale, according to the Rotary Club.

Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Melissa Gumbs moderated the preliminary round. The Rotary Club said participants received certificates and goody bags, and Gumbs received a token of appreciation.
