Collective Prevention Services (CPS), the Department of Sport, the Division of Public Education and Stichting EGO have launched a back-to-school campaign promoting healthier daily habits for children and families across St. Maarten. The partners said the campaign is based on findings in the St. Maarten Child Monitor 2025.

CPS and its partners said the campaign has five themes: Eat Smart, Drink Water, Sleep Well, Move More and Less Screen Time. The Child Monitor identified opportunities to improve nutrition, physical activity, sleep and overall well-being among primary school children, they said.

Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Melissa Gumbs said children’s health requires participation from government, parents, schools, healthcare providers, businesses, community organisations and families. Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor Claret Connor said healthy routines established in childhood can support lifelong health.

The campaign will start with an awareness video and the first of five posters. The partners said materials will also reach schools, daycare centres, healthcare providers and other community locations through posters, flyers, social media, schools and outreach activities.
