Statia Bash returns after 25 years with seven boats
Seven boats sailed to Statia on Saturday 3 October for the first Statia Bash event in 25 years, SMYC said.

Seven boats took part in the first Statia Bash sailing event in 25 years on Saturday 3 October, according to SMYC. The fleet started from an imaginary line between Pelican and Beacon Hill and reached Statia after a four- to five-hour sail.
SMYC said the event was not classified as a race, although prizes were awarded. The boats left Statia for Sint Maarten at 11:30am AST on Sunday 4 October.
Jolyon Ferron won line honours aboard Bandit. Ryan Hope Ross, sailing More Zessin, was named as the boat that would have won on handicap, while Jake Martin's Spellbound received the multihull prize.
Imagine, with a Maritime School of the West Indies crew aboard, won the prize for the biggest fish. Caraibes Diesel received the closest estimated-arrival-time prize. Dauntless was disqualified after its crew went to the wrong bar after the event, SMYC said.
Charlie Stoner received a prize for the hardest-working crew member after changing sails aboard Let it Be. SMYC said Jolyon Ferron, Ryan Hope Ross, Jake Martin, Appie Stoutenbeek, Luke Swart and Zoë Shillingford took part.
