USM starts weekly Pep Talks for Caribbean Foundation Year students
USM has launched Tuesday and Wednesday morning Pep Talks linking Caribbean Foundation Year students with community speakers.

The University of St. Martin has launched weekly Pep Talks for Caribbean Foundation Year students, according to USM. The university said the Tuesday and Wednesday morning sessions connect students with professionals, community leaders and USM alumni.
Nkosazana Illis, a holistic healer and social worker, led the first session, USM said. The university said Captain Peterson Bourjoly of SXM Airways, a USM alumnus, and President of Parliament Sarah Wescot-Williams are due to speak at later sessions.
Shobhan Giterson, a mentor to CFY students, said the sessions allow students to ask questions and learn from speakers’ experiences. USM invited alumni and community members to volunteer to speak with students, and listed +1 (721) 542-5171 as a contact number for those interested.
